I would do this by customizing the default user profile, simply selecting Show hidden files and folders and Show extensions in folder options and copying this setting to default user profile which is then used in all future user accounts.

Home Folder Accidentally Hidden Earlier today I was trying to find some files in my Users folder which contained both the folders "Public" and "Home." It should be. These were likely went into the Recycle Bin with the Hidden attribute and thus remained hidden. Edit: Whoa wait a minute. I just sent a hidden file to the Recycle Bin, changed my Folder Options setting to "Don't show hidden files, folders, or drives" but this file is still fully visible while sitting in the Recycle Bin.
